Am I Enough?

Am I Enough?

Sometimes we ask ourselves this question when we embark on a new venture, and many times we let doubt creep in. I've been meditating on what my pastor, T.C. Johnson, preached about at church on this past Sunday.

In Luke 21, the Bible talks about The Widow's Offering.

"Jesus looked around and saw rich people dropping their gifts in the temple treasury, and he also saw a very poor widow dropping in two little copper coins. He said, 'I tell you that this poor widow put in more than all the others. For the others offered their gifts from what they had to spare of their riches; but she, poor as she is, gave all she had to live on.' Luke 21:1-4 GNB

I had to step back and take a look at this on a broader scale: the widow was surrounded by those who had more financially than she did. When it was her turn for offering, she gave all she had - only 2 coins. She wasn't concerned about the things that those around her had to contribute, but she gave what she had from her heart. How many times have we compared ourselves to other people and felt like we weren't good enough or that our qualities or qualifications didn't match up?

Starting out with this website/blog, I wondered about being "late to the party" or having no experience in how to start and gain traction. This scripture teaches me that the important thing is that whatever is in you to do, give it all you've got, and watch God work! As pastor stated, "Use what you have and watch God grow it. Don't look at your 'little bit' as nothing."

And that's what I plan to do!

With God, all things are possible! Matthew 19:26
